carrying the ladder

One of my favorite parts about working for PKK is the outdoor jobs. Monday we spent all day outside, the weather wasn't very bad, the wind was basically calm - wind sucks when you're on top of a 14ft ladder trying to wrestle with a 40lbs letter "C." Anyway, it seemed the only downfall today would be the ice under foot, and thus, under ladder. A slightly sketchy (off kilter) ladder set-up can slid out from under you with little or no notice. The ice was on our side today, nobody fell, nobody even slipped. What we did do though was search the Virchaw Krause building near East Towne mall for about an hour trying to find a photocell or light switch. Turns out now it's all computerized. Somehow they decided computer controlled lighting is better than a little canister (35mm film roll sized) outside the building somewhere that flips the lights on whenever it gets dark. I'm reminded of a quote from an Outcast album, "They said a computer could my job better than I could damn do it."

Already this morning my puppy has thrown up twice and gotten an empty PBR returnables box stuck on her head, she got scared and was running around whimpering and peeing. Everyone is fine now.

MOTAB this Sunday! In other racing news, did you get your team kit? I've got 4 or 5 WEMS races a smattering of WORS and 24-9 planned this year....of course, probably some cross, too.
