Everyone's got one, or something like it. Mine happened yesterday, when I received a Surley Hub Fixxer. Everything was going fine until it was time to thread the nuts on. Well, one of the nuts wasn't threaded right...Channeling my spiritual leader Peter Hellenbrand, I figured I could just tap new threads into it, after all, it's just holding 1/2 my rear fixt gear wheel on, how much torque will it REALLY have to stand up to?? Holding the nut in an adjustable pliers and using my (slightly rusty) Crapsman 10x1 tap and some T-9 chain lube as cutting oil, I went at it. You know what? I think it worked pretty good.
