McNeill's Hardware & 1st time

9:00am, djonn shows up, we hit the road, headed to the "motherland." The hardware store is AWESOME as ususal. One of the last dying breeds of stores for everything. It's great, there's everything from a kerosene pump to paint mixers to mirror and glass cutting to re-screening windows. Oh, and they've got a carriage elevator - from back when they did carriage (like horse and buggy) repair. The basement has over 500 old school Schwinn bikes (before Schwinn went bankrupt...the first time). They've been a Schwinn dealer ever since there WAS a Schwinn. Great Grandma's bike in the attic has wooden rim sew-ups. There's a closet full of WWII machine guns. There's a trombone that gets played by Albert during lunch hour. It's the type of store every man loves to be in. Red Dog got the parts in so my first fixt is well on it's way. SIDE NOTE: it's total bullshit that the smaller a dealer is the larger their minimum order is. QBP normally has a $100 minimum order, but because McNeill's is such a small account, their minimum order is $250 - WTF? It's totally American for companies to weed out the smaller accounts. Assholes. Back to the lecture at hand: So we're back in Mad Town and djonn's got shit to do, Megan and I decide that it's a great day for a BBQ. So we do: Steak, peppers, tomatoes, onion and zucchini shish-ka-bobs. YUMMY. Oh, and we had a Point 12pk cans. Our NY beeytoch best buddy showed up with some fancy-boy Red Hook ESB (THANK YOU KATHY). True Wisconsin, it's early March, it's 58 degrees, and we're bar-bee-quing!!!! Now I'm drunk. Tommorrow I play bike mechanic - fixing Ric's cross bike and getting Sheronda's wheel fixt-a-tized. This week I'll hopefully get the frame back from Mike Appel. Then get it painted my own custom rattle can mix, then I'll do some bike riding. I got a 1/2 link for the White Trash bike. Maybe I can retire the derailleur that's on there...we'll see. xoxo, Phil
