Saturday I opted to get some much neglected chores done instead of racing the O'Mally Cat. It looks like I missed out on a great race. My chores were finished up around 3:00pm, which left me quite a bit of daylight for an afternoon ride. My first 2+ hour ride in 2007. I left my house thinking I'll have have most of the headwind out of the way by the second half. I was wrong. I only remember 1 stretch of road without headwind. It was mostly a 3 directional head/crosswind for the entire ride. I cruised along nicely, got chased by 2 overweight Chocolate Labs and while outrunning them, a minivan pulled out infront of me, ahhh.....spring is in the air. All in all the ride was nice, lots of fragrant dairy farms and gentle hills. It was a very theraputic ride.
Possible first race for 2007 - March 31st, Chicago's Bandit Cross Series Race #1.
