It's been a whole year...
Last year was difficult at Thanksgiving, my mother-in-law died in the morning, and Megan and I spent the day driving and making funeral arrangements. This year was easier, some of the pain is gone, and we were able to spend time with some of my favorite extended family. It was really nice, Charlene made 6 pies, 3 of which were sugar-free because a few of my relatives have diabeties and everyone deserves pie! Back at home after the feast and family, we started a small fire in our burn pile, within about 30 minutes, we'd moved a case of beer and our camp chairs out there. For the next 6 hours we sat, watched the sun set, watched our fire and relaxed. We ran out of downed tree branches and brush pretty quickly so we resorted to using parts of the barn that has been falling in for the past 5 years. It was really great.
